VDS PVLAN

I have a VDS with two port groups connected to a Cisco 4500. I have followed the VMWare document for creating a private vlan. I have the promiscous vlan and two community vlans, both port groups. If I am part of the promscous vlan, i have access. Neither of the community vlans have connectivity to anything, even within their community. I followed a VMWare doc on setting up the Cisco switch to trunk.

I have tried the PVLAN with the switch only allowing the promisucous vlan and also allowing the community vlans. Still does not work. Here is the network setup

firewall port 3/1 (vlan 1 access only)

ESX1 port 3/2&3 (trunking vlan 1,2,3)

ESX2 port 3/4&5 (trunking vlan 1,2,3)

ESX3 port 3/6&7 (trunking vlan 1,2,3)

What am I missing or configured wrong?

Thanks for any help,
