Remote port mirroring between VMs on the same host

Hi,

I am trying to create a port mirroring between 2 VMs, whether they are both on the same ESX or each one on a different ESX.

I've created a remote mirroring source and destination, which works fine only when the 2 VMs are on different ESXs, when they are both located on the same ESX the mirroring stops working.

Anyone maybe have some experience with this kind of mirroring and knows if this is a configuration that's supposed to work or does remote mirroring is unable to work when to 2 VMs are on the same ESX?
